Recap:
Auditions continue and Simon, Paula, L.A. and Cheryl are judging in Chicago. The raining weather doesn’t stop them from wanting to have their chance to win it big and be famous. The judges take their seat to await the contestants to see if they have what it takes to be the first X Factor for the USA.

First up are Makenna & Brock, a pair of friends that Brock says that he has been in love with Makenna for years and hasn’t told her yet. They sing and they are good. They get a standing ovation and L.A. says that he liked it. Cheryl talks about how the harmony was perfect. Simon says that he normally doesn’t like this kind of act, but he liked it. Paula agrees. However, this doesn’t last because as the weather turns for the worse, so does the talent. The judges are not happy.

Auditioning next, Skylar Anderson, a country boy from Mississippi, come out and says that he wants to sell records in country music. He starts to sing and the audio goes out. However, he continues. L.A. likes him and says that he was great. Cheryl says that he was great. Paula says that the vocals need work, but there is potential. Simon liked how he didn’t stop. He gets his pass to Boot Camp.

Next up is J. Mark Inman and says that he is a smart person who has always wanted to sing. He comes out and sings “Creep” and it is alright. However, his dancing is cool. Paula says that he is in a different world and she likes that because she is there. L.A. says that it was bad vocally, but a lot of fun. Cheryl says that she wants to be in this place and wants to go out with Paula too. Simon says that thanks to Paula, the creation is born. A bunch of bizarre acts follow that Paula relates to and have fun.

Josh Krajcik is next and he says that he is going to sing “At Last”. Simon doesn’t think that he is going to be able to do it, but listens in. Josh does a fantastic job and gets a standing ovation. Simon says that he was blown away. L.A. says that he was way too good and he knows it. Cheryl says that he nailed it and Paula says that it was great. They vote and he gets through.

The X Factor moves on to Seattle again and Nicole joins the judges. First up is mother daughter duo. They call themselves “The Good Girls”. They sing and are motionless and horrible. Simon doesn’t believe that the act is true, but they tell that it is. They don’t waste any time and they vote no.

Hoping to turn it around is Drew Ryniewicz. She tells that she loves Justin Beiber. She gets on stage and they remind her that L.A. signed Justin. She starts to sing and it is amazing. She gets a standing ovation and Nicole says that she loved Drew’s rendition of the song. Paula says that it was amazing. Simon says that he liked it a lot. L.A. says that it was believable because of the soul in her voice.

Next is Peet Monzingo. He says that he is the only average height in a family of Dwarves. He is charming and makes the ladies laugh. He starts to sing and it isn’t the best. Nicole tries to be nice to him, but it comes down to him not being good enough in it. Simon says that the singing was bad, but it was honest. L.A. didn’t like the singing either, but liked him. He doesn’t get through though.

4Shore come up and they tell that they are going to sing “End of the Road” Simon warns them that L.A. wrote that song and they tell that they know. They start singing it and do a great job. They get a standing ovation. L.A. says that Boyz to Men would be amazed. Nicole thanks them for giving them a concert. Simon says that they are always looking for people to represent them and he says that they are perfect for that.

A bunch of singers have their voices judged and all judges get to their feet. Next up is Phillip Lomax. He comes out and sings a Sinatra song. He sings it well and L.A. says that he has the X Factor and that it was great. Simon says that he likes his charisma. Nicole says that it was really good. Paula says that it was a great performance.

After the performance, the competition heats up and Paula and Nicole judge the girls more harshly. They watch as women come in dressed trashy and they don’t even give them a chance with it. Simon comments that it is DOA (Dead on Arrival). Last up for the evening is Tiah Tolliver. She comes out and Simon says that she is DOA. She auditions and Paula says that she didn’t like it. Nicole agrees with Paula. However, Simon and L.A. see something there. They give her another chance, but Paula is still not convinced. Nicole gives her a second chance in the next round. That is it for performances in Seattle.

Tiah Tolliver is the last to audition and she comes out. Simon says that she is DOA. Paula tells him to be quiet. She comes out and is a little all over the place with her vocals, but Simon says that there is something there. However, Nicole and Paula are not happy with that and L.A. says that she has to prove to them that she is worth it. She gets another chance and she is not that good, but there is still talent that Simon can see. After the audience tells that they need to put her through, Nicole caves and allows her in. That is it for tonight, tomorrow is the last of the auditions.
